POPPERS

WHAT happens WHEN YOU USE POPPERS?

If you use Poppers it can make you:

Poppers makes your heart beat quicker, music sounds louder, especially the bass and gives you a head rush that lasts about 30 seconds. You are then left with what feels like a hangover (headache, feeling sick, tired, miserable).

It is highly flammable and toxic. There have been deaths from people who have drunk poppers.

Repeated sniffing (doing it a lot) can cause a rash around the mouth and nose.

SO WHATS IT LIKE?

The real name for poppers is Nitrates.

This can be amyl, butyl or isobutyl nitrate. They are liquids that give off fumes and are sniffed/inhaled.

They are not thought to be addictive in any way.

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!!

A question asked a lot is, “Do poppers make your bum hole bigger? ”The truth is, it does! (sort of) This is because it has a muscle relaxing ability, it doesn't actually get bigger but does become more relaxed so seems bigger.

It used to be used to treat angina (a heart condition) as it opens up blood vessels around the heart when it is used. Amyl Nitrite is controlled under the Medicines Act. Possession is not illegal but supply can be an offence. There have been cases where the Medicines Act was used to fine shops for selling them, but they’re still sold as Room Aromas or Deodorisers in sex shops and some clubs.

It can cause a tolerance (body gets used to it). A break from using means that this tolerance will go.
